Rotation: selling MHK; buying TIBX (TIBCO Software).

That’s a little bullish, from a furniture company to a business solution provider.  Our imaginary “Mr. Market” is getting off of the couch and looking for work.  That’s a good thing.  But let’s look at Mr. Market in more detail.

Here’s what the model considers an “ideal” portfolio for the next quarter:

OmniVision Techn.
OVTI
ENTTECH
Madden (Steven) Ltd.
SHOO
SHOE
Gladstone Capital
GLAD
PPEQ
TeleTech Holdings
TTEC
INDUSRV
TIBCO Software
TIBX
B2B
Cerner Corp.
CERN
HLTHSYS
Schweitzer-Mauduit Int'l
SWM
TOBACCO
Express Scripts
ESRX
DRUGSTOR
Washington Federal
WAFD
THRIFT
PNM Resources
PNM
UTILWEST

Although I do have investments in some of these industries already, only SHOO is a specific stock.  The other choices have shifted around with the change from blended to value based investments.

In any case, Mr. Market is still watching TV, taking blood pressure medicine  that his doc has prescribed instead of quitting the cigarettes.  He needs new shoes, though, because he has an interview for a job.  So, even though he lost his car to the credit union repo man, he’s hopeful for some real employment in the near future.

We wish him luck on his job search, but the shadow of the utility company still hangs over all else.

The other shadow is the style model’s selection of “Value” over ‘Growth”.

Growth tries to maximize reward.

Value tries to minimize risk.

There is more risk than reward in the path of our hero.  Will his plucky optimism and new pair of shoes make it through?

Tune in next week.  Same time.  Same channel…

Tim
